The Barn Cat Taps Pete Spratt in UFC Debut - From ufc.com: A star was born in the preliminary bout between Tamdan McCrory and Pete Spratt, as the 20-year old New Yorker survived some rough moments and used a varied and energetic attack to submit Spratt in the second round of an action-packed welterweight bout.

The 5 foot 9 Spratt (16-9) looked to be in trouble almost immediately as the 6 foot 4 McCrory, all arms and legs, got 'The Secret Weapon's back and almost locked in a rear naked choke. But Spratt's veteran guile got him out of trouble and he turned the tables, only to get caught in a triangle attempt that he broke with a thunderous slam. The slam appeared to take some of the steam out of McCrory (10-0), and Spratt controlled the rest of the round on the mat with a steady ground attack. With 30 seconds left, referee Jorge Alonso stood the two, and Spratt scored with a couple of his trademark leg kicks before McCrory nailed a takedown moments before the bell sounded.

The bout went back to the mat in the early stages of the second, with Spratt again working his ground and pound until McCrory got the space he needed to lock in a triangle choke and force the tapout at 2:04 of the round.
